The Quechan Tribal Council’s signed statement, linked from the Tribe’s official news feed on Oct. 21, 2026, lists five requests to Imperial County concerning an apology, bridge timeline and funding, emergency access, public updates and government-to-government consultation.
KAWC reports Hawk remark and apology
KAWC reported on Oct. 20 that Supervisor John Hawk said he felt “scalped” after a meeting with Quechan community members, then apologized at a later Board meeting. Yuma Informed has not reviewed the original recording or independently identified the meeting where the first remark was made.
Board agenda includes two bridge emergency items
Imperial County’s Arnold Road and Picacho reports were agenda Items 35 and 38 for the Oct. 20, 2026, Board of Supervisors meeting. This package has not verified the Board’s vote or certified actions on either item.
County engineer says Picacho likely must be replaced
