CLAIM UNDER REVIEW
KAWC June 2 and June 8 candidate profiles report Carlos Adams grew up working at his parents' Mexican crafts store at Southgate Mall, but their reviewed text names neither parent nor the store. No verified store/operator record connecting Jacqueline or a Soto variant was located in the bounded search.
KAWC's pages describe a childhood at Southgate; the derived interview text qualifies the work claim.
Assessment
The evidence supports the main point, with stated limitations.
This is an editorial assessment of the cited evidence, not a finding by a court or public authority.
Evidence summary
S022: A reported interview. S032: A reported interview. S103: A record of the public searches actually checked.
What the evidence establishes
KAWC June 2 and June 8 candidate profiles report Carlos Adams grew up working at his parents' Mexican crafts store at Southgate Mall, but their reviewed text names neither parent nor the store. No verified store/operator record connecting Jacqueline or a Soto variant was located in the bounded search.
What it does not establish
The two KAWC pages report a childhood business account, without independently verifying either parent or the store's ownership. The pages come from the same newsroom. The handwritten 2000 return-mail address remains uncertain and is not mapped to Southgate. Later review of the retained audio S105 used derived transcription, with direct listening still incomplete (PR07). At approximately 06:02-06:14 the derived text attributes to Carlos a denial that he helped or worked there and an account of playing behind the counter. The pages' published work claim is not his authenticated verbatim statement; see C131/C133.
What remains unknown
The parents, store operator, exact address and handwritten deed-address connection remain unverified.
