Yuma has done Rocky Horror the movie way. This week it gets the stage show.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the few movies where the audience is part of the cast. Costumes and audience participation come with the territory. This week, Yuma gets the stage musical.

On Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, Yuma Art Center and Yuma Community Theater are presenting Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show at the Historic Yuma Theatre. The City's production page describes a fully staged live performance with local actors.

The story follows Brad and Janet, a pair of sweethearts who stumble into Dr. Frank-N-Furter's castle. If your idea of a quiet evening involves absolutely no singing, strange costumes or audience participation, this probably isn't your evening.

When to arrive

The City's event calendar lists this schedule for the production:

• 7 p.m. Doors open.
• 7:45 p.m. Costume contest.
• 8 p.m. Show begins, with a 15-minute intermission.

Leave the toast at home

Both City listings say an official prop bag is included with each ticket. The calendar says bags will be distributed at the theatre.

Outside props aren't permitted. The production page specifically lists toast, hot dogs, rice, lighters and water guns among the things to leave behind. Audience participation is welcome; supplying the cleanup problem yourself is not.

The show is 18 and older, with valid ID required. The City warns of mature themes, strong language and sexual content. Costumes are encouraged.
