Here is a vending-machine idea with a different payoff: you choose something, and the donation helps somebody else.
KYMA reports that red Giving Machines will come to Yuma for the first time, with a planned stop Nov. 16–29 in front of Harkins at Yuma Palms.
The station names four local beneficiaries: Amberly’s Place, United Way of Yuma County, Safe House and the Food Bank. Those are the names in the report; the final local charity list and item menu have not been independently confirmed.
The kiosks are part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Light the World campaign. The sponsor’s program explanation says people select donations through participating charities. It says the Church covers the initiative’s operating costs so donations go to the nonprofits.
That explains the general program. It does not tell a Yuma shopper exactly what will be on this menu or when the kiosks will be staffed.
Hours, available items and local payment details remain unconfirmed. Before making a special trip or choosing a donation, check the posted information and ask which charity receives it. No organizer or beneficiary outreach has been made for this article.
