A building can get a new use without its entire history becoming clear. Casa Verde Guest House is a small downtown Yuma example.
KYMA’s Oct. 16 report describes a remodel that included updated plumbing and electrical systems and created two guest apartments. The operator’s own site identifies them as La Solana, with one bedroom, and Este Sol, with two.
Serena Koogle of Casa Verde Creative Development told KYMA the idea offered a more home-like stay than a conventional hotel. The report describes artwork and regional touches in the rooms.
The building is described as dating to 1938, but that history has not been independently checked against assessor or City records. A claimed construction date is not proof of historic designation, and a remodel alone does not establish what original fabric survives.
The supported story is the new use: two guest apartments in downtown Yuma. A fuller account of the building’s earlier life will need records of its own.
